YOUTUBE CRACKS DOWN ON FAKE VIEWS
According to the Huffington Post, online video streaming giant, YouTube, has stripped billions of fake views amounted by a load of major recording artists. The labels that took the biggest hit during the crack down include Universal and Sony/BMG where artists like Nicki Minaj and Leona Lewis lost millions of views. Apparently the views were amassed via the underhanded technique of hacked numbers. The problem, according to YouTube analysts, is one that offsets the integrity of music popularity and sales.
This enables them to make clips appear far more popular, increase their exposure and draw advertising revenue.
